Kate Roy

Kia ora, I am Kate Roy, an artist based in Ōtautahi Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand.

My path to printmaking has been unconventional. I hold degrees in both Music and Anatomy, taught secondary science, then spent a decade in the electrical industry, becoming a registered electrician specialising industrial and high voltage projects. I have always enjoyed both domains of art and science.

I create mixed media and print art with many pieces exploring Native Fauna and Flora of Aotearoa. Other works are simply the magic that is combining colour, shape, and texture.
